How S3 works
When the driver accelerates too fast, or drives too fast, and makes sudden turns, there is a danger of tipping over. The S3 system thinks ahead and can compensate by reducing speed and acceleration.
S3 is analysing parameters such as steering angle, driving direction, load position and load weight *. With this as a base the system is limiting the drivers possibilities of making a mistake.
The system also modifies the relationship between the speed of the truck and the sensitivity of the steering wheel to give maximum control of the vehicle.
When loads are handled at high levels and the mast is extended and tilted, destabilising forces arise, especially when the truck moves across the floor. Here the S3 system takes immediate actions. When handling loads at high levels, S3 limits the number of operations that can be carried out at the same time. In addition the speed of the movement is limited to further facilitate accurate and safe handling.
At low and medium heights all lever functions are permitted, but here too the system ensures soft movements.
